presentation about research
That is script to presentation about research
Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I’m Uraiwan Cholkasem. I’m a third years
student English major at a faculty of Education Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat
University. Today I’m going to present a research on Using Language Journal writing
and Error Correction to improve English Ability by Songsri Soranastaporn.
My purpose of the presentation to inform you this research. I will to speak for ten
minute and I have divided my presentation in to 4 parts. In the first part, I’m going to
talk about Introduction. In the next section, I will to talk about Methodology. In the
third part, I would like to talk about Results of this research and the last part, I’m going
to talk about Conclusion. And I’d ask you to save your question for the end.
Ok. Now let us look at the first aspect. That is the introduction of the
research was the research used the result of error analysis to be their authentic
resource for development a learner- centered teaching and learning technique. This
technique is very simple and direct so all teacher can use it. of the four English skills,
writing is considered to be the most difficult especially for EFL students. EFL teachers
try to find new techniques to motivate and encourage student to write. Then, Student
are able write only when at least they have the knowledge and desire to write. It is the
responsibility of EFL teacher to choose writing techniques that are suitable to their
student. Writing diaries and journals are useful tasks. Moreover, to improve their
writing skills, student’ error should be fixed. Teachers can find the most common errors
of their students by analyzing their errors, and by using the results of error analysis to
improve their writing skills, students’ error should be fixed. Teacher can find the most
common errors of their students by analyzing their error, and by using the results of
error analysis to improve their writing skills. The purpose of study was to investigate
the effectiveness to the English achievement of first-year Engineering students, at the
faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University by learning journal writing and error
correction technique.
That’s all I would like to say about introduction of the research next
section that is Methodology The first, subjects There were 67 student; 51 males and 16
females. Four of them were repeating student. A non-probability convenience sampling
was used for this study the researcher choose to conduct this study with the classroom
that was assigned by the department of foreign language, Mahidol University. Then
Methdology was this study examined and analyzed learning journals written by Thai
first year engineering students of Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University of 2003
academic year. Then, students’ error were analyzed and use as materials to improve
their English ability. Error correction technique was used to point out and clarify
student’s error. Students- teacher conference and peer correction were used to correct
error. At the last methodology was research instrument, three research instruments
were used in this study were the achievement test, the learning journal writing, and
error correction technique. The first, Achievement test. One test was used to determine
students’ English proficiency. The test consisted of 3 parts: Vocabulary, Grammar,
Reading. Second , Learning Journal. Each student wrote three journal entries on the
first three months of each semester so the total was 6 journal entries. And the third,
Lesson plans. Lesson plans for group was constructed on the basis of the objectives and
goal of the Department of foreign languages, Mahidol University. Two textbooks were
used as guidelines.
That’s all I would like to say about Methodology Now let us turn to third part
that is Results of this research was First, the results of the error analysis revealed that
the top five writing errors. Second, the results of the achievement test showed that (A)
there was a significant difference between scores gained from the pre-test and the post-
test. (B) the mean scores of the post-test of students were significantly higher than of the
pre-test.
Then, I would like to talk about the last part, that is conclusion of this
research was writing skills are the most difficult skills for students, especially in EFL
situations. Learning journal writing motivates students to write in English as well as to
stimulate their learning. Error analysis helps teacher to track what need to be taught to
help students increase their English skills. Learning journal writing is a unique resource
for learning English grammar and structure because the data comes from the learner
directly. Moreover, peer correction is used to correct errors in a non-threatening way
while their teacher is available to help, encourage. And facilitate. Finally, this learning-
centered technique has contributed to positive results as demonstrated by the pre-and
post-test scores.
Ok everybody do have you any question?

Woman Won't Give Approval To Friend's Destructive Affairs
10 years ago, my husband of 20 years left me for a woman 25 years my junior. I was devastated, but all of his friends except one supported him. A month after we were divorced, my ex killed himself, alone and apparently abandoned by his lover). I still believe that the one friend who did not support him was his only true friend. He stood up for what he thought was right and was hurtfully rejected for it. If my husband had listened, he would probably still be alive today. Sometimes, it is not best--for you or for your friend--to do the easy thing and support his wanderings. Sometimes--even at the cost of rejection, it is best to do what is right.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ucda/20110228/lf_ucda/womanwontgiveapprovaltofriendsdestructiveaffairs
